Here are our Premier League predictions for Sheffield United vs Liverpool on Wednesday night. The Blades sit bottom of the table following their 5-0 hammering at Burnley and now face an even tougher game at home to Liverpool.

The Reds are in good form and have been scoring goals for fun of late, so the chances of an upset in this game are very slim.

Sheffield Utd vs Liverpool prediction – Betting tips & odds

Hot Tip – Liverpool to Win-to-Nil

  • Liverpool have won their last five games against the Blades.
  • Sheffield United have failed to score in two of their last five league games.

Another reason that we have backed Liverpool to win to nil as our main Sheffield Utd vs Liverpool prediction is that Liverpool have won three of their last four matches in all competitions, keeping clean sheets in two of those victories.

Sheffield Utd vs Liverpool team news

Sheff Utd

Sheff Utd made the trip to Burnley at the weekend, where they found themselves 2-0 and a man down at the halfway point. In one of their poorest displays of the season, the Blades conceded a further three goals in the second half, losing the match 5-0.

Oliver McBurnie was the player sent off in that game and he will now miss the match against Liverpool along with the injured Rhian Brewster, Tom Davies, John Egan, Rhys Norrington-Davies and Chris Basham.

Predicted Lineup: Foderingham (GK), Baldock, Robinson, Ahmedhodžić, Trusty, Thomas, Fleck, Norwood, Hamer, Traoré & Archer

Liverpool

Liverpool played out a seven-goal thriller at home to Fulham and will have been relieved to come away with a win at the final whistle. An own goal from the Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno put Liverpool ahead but the two sides would go in level at the break 2-2, with Alexis Mac Allister scoring Liverpool's second goal.

The Reds slipped behind with 10 minutes of the 90 remaining but managed to dig out two goals of their own through Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold late on to win the match 4-3.

Thiago Alcantara, Andrew Robertson, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, Stefan Bajcetic and Joel Matip are the main injury concerns for the visitors ahead of their trip to Sheffield.

Predicted Lineup: Kelleher (GK), Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas, Alexander-Arnold, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Salah, Díaz & Núñez

Player to Watch: Mohamed Salah

In a game where we expect Liverpool to do almost all of the attacking, Mo Salah has to be our player to watch on Wednesday night.

Liverpool's Egyptian forward top scores for the Reds this season with 10 Premier League goals but is also the club's main creator of goals, with six assists to his name.

Sheffield United have the worst defence in the Premier League this season, and we expect Liverpool to exploit that weakness on Wednesday.
