Draw

Brentford have drawn the joint-most games this season (four).

Brentford are hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season when they welcome Liverpool to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Bees extended that run with a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa last time out, but Liverpool will perhaps provide a tougher test for them.

The Reds lost their first league game last weekend, as they were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City at Anfield in a match dominated by headlines involving the latter being found guilty of breaking the Premier League's financial regulations.

Brentford vs. Liverpool key stats

  • Brentford are unbeaten in eight league games stretching back to last season (W2, D6).
  • Andoni Iraola has never beaten Brentford (D2, L5).
  • Brentford were unbeaten in both head-to-heads last season (W1, D1).

After just missing out on European football last season, Brentford will want another crack at it again.

It would be the first time in their history should they do so, and they are in a great position in fourth.

Keith Andrews is doing an incredible job, and not many would bet against them beating Liverpool on home soil.

The Bees may have to do so without Kevin Schade and Jannik Schuster though, who both came off injured against Villa.

Liverpool will definitely be missing Ryan Gravenberch, who is suspended after getting sent off against Man City.

There are also continuous questions over the fitness of Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai, so the Reds could be significantly weakened.

Iraola will try his best to get his team a result though, despite not having any previous personal success against Brentford.

He has only lost once as Liverpool manager, which was against Man City, so it promises to be an intriguing battle against the unbeaten Bees.

Whispers predicts: Brentford 2-2 Liverpool

Brentford are slight 7/5 (2.40) favourites, and use our bet365 bonus code if you would like to make any bets for this match.

However, Liverpool have been in strong form aside from the Man City defeat, so we are happy to back against the bookies.

The Draw at 11/4 (3.75) looks reasonably priced, while BTTS – Yes at 1/2 (1.50) is a safer bet given the attacking quality both teams possess.

Bradley Barcola opened his Liverpool account with an emphatic hat-trick in their 6-3 thrashing of LASK in the Champions League in midweek, and he will be desperate to score his first Premier League goal.

Barcola to score anytime at 3/1 (4.00) is our final punt, while our prediction of a 2-2 draw is also available at 11/1 (12.00).
