Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday will do battle at Bramall Lane on Sunday in the latest edition of the Steel City Derby.
The hosts picked up a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture at Hillsborough last year and can confirm their rivals' relegation to League One with what would be a fourth straight derby win.

Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday prediction: Sheffield United to relegate rivals?
Key stats
- Sheffield United have won six of their last eight home league games while only losing one.
- Sheffield Wednesday have lost their last 10 matches and are winless since September.
- Sheffield Wednesday have scored the fewest goals (19) and conceded the most (64) in the Championship this season.
Correct score prediction: Sheffield United 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday will arrive at Bramall Lane aiming to make the contest a cagey derby, with all of the pressure undoubtedly on the playoff-chasing hosts.
We do not see the visitors having enough to limit the Blades though and see Chris Wilder's side completing a double to send their rivals down to League One.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Sheffield Wednesday major underdogs
- HOME: 1/6 (1.17) – 85.7%
- DRAW: 13/2 (7.50) – 13.3%
- AWAY: 14/1 (15.00) – 6.7%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
As shown by the implied probabilities, bookmakers give Sheffield United an overwhelming edge at Bramall Lane with an 85.7% chance – a figure very rarely seen in a Championship contest.
Sheffield Wednesday are remarkably given just a 6.7% chance to upset their neighbours, while a draw is seen as 13.3% likely. Also, feel free to check out our Today’s betting tips page, as well as our Championship predictions & betting tips page.

Sheffield United preview: Rothwell suspended, Riedewald back?
Sheffield United are missing Joe Rothwell through a suspension, while Sam McCallum and Tom Davies are out injured.
Jairo Riedewald is back after an injury layoff, and he and Sydie Peck will both hope to come in and join Kalvin Phillips in midfield, while Tyrese Campbell and Callum O'Hare will compete to return to the attack from the outset.
The Blades sit 15th in the Championship but only trail the top six by six points.
Predicted lineup: Cooper (GK); Seriki, Tanganga, Bindon, Burrows; Phillips, Peck; Brooks, O'Hare, Hamer & Bamford
Last five results:
- 14/02/26: Portsmouth 0-1 Sheffield United (Championship)
- 09/02/26: Sheffield United 1-2 Middlesbrough (Championship)
- 03/02/26: Sheffield United 3-1 Oxford (Championship)
- 31/01/26: Millwall 1-1 Sheffield United (Championship)
- 24/01/26: Sheffield United 3-1 Ipswich (Championship)
Sheffield Wednesday preview: Small squad remains badly hit
Sheffield Wednesday continue to face extensive injury issues, with Murphy Cooper joining fellow goalkeeper Pierce Charles, defenders Dominic Iorfa, Max Lowe, Sean Fusire and Ernie Weaver in the treatment room.
In the absence of a fit goalkeeper, the Owls have been able to bring in Seny Dieng on an emergency seven-day loan, and he will debut between the sticks at Bramall Lane.
If the teams above the Owls fail to condemn them to relegation to League One on Saturday, given they sit on -7 points for the season with just one win, a loss at their rivals would confirm their drop out of England's second tier.
Predicted lineup: Dieng (GK); Palmer, Otegbayo, Cooper, Adaramola; Ingelsson, Heskey; McNeill, Lowe, Kobacki & Yates
Last five results:
- 14/02/26: Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Millwall (Championship)
- 08/02/26: Swansea 4-0 Sheffield Wednesday (Championship)
- 03/02/26: Blackburn 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday (Championship)
- 31/01/26: Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Wrexham (Championship)
- 24/01/26: Bristol City 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday (Championship)
Player to watch: Patrick Bamford

Arriving as a free agent, Patrick Bamford made his Sheffield United debut off the bench in the return fixture at Hillsborough in November, and he has since established himself as a key man in the Blades' attack.
While competition is rife for spots in the front line on Sunday, Bamford will certainly get the nod centrally from the outset, having netted seven goals in 15 Championship appearances so far this season and eight in all competitions – the most in the squad despite missing the first three months of the campaign.
