Whisper+ analysis
Authenticity (4.5/5): Source's viability can rarely be doubted
Neymar hasn't had the best time in Saudi Arabia since his €90 million (£75m) move to Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain as the Brazilian enigma has suffered from an injury crisis. As such, it has been reported that the Saudi Pro League champions are considering terminating the 32-year-old's contract.
Saudi journalist Tariq Al-Nofal has reported that Inter Miami have inquired about Neymar's availability ahead of the 2025 MLS season as they look to reunite the Brazilian with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Reports have also suggested that Neymar bought a mansion in Florida worth $26 million last month, which further boosted the rumours.
Al-Nofal is as reputed a journalist as there can be when it comes to news regarding Al-Hilal.
Value (3.5/5): Neymar may come for free – wages won't come cheap
Signing a player of Neymar's level for free, regardless of his injury issues, is an absolute no-brainer for any club. However, for Inter Miami the Brazilian's wages will be a big burden as the former PSG star is likely to ask for a fee similar to what Sergio Busquets earns at the club.
Additionally, due to MLS's Designated Player rules, the Herons will also have to buy out Leonardo Campana's contract in order to fit Neymar into one of the three Designated Player spots.
Suitability (5/5): Recreating MSN at Inter Miami
The offensive spoils of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar need no introduction as the famous trio, who played together at Barcelona from 2014 to 2017, has scored a total of 363 goals across three seasons and won a total of eight trophies, including the 2015 Champions League. As such, it is a no-brainer that the three would once again fit in together regardless of their ages.
Upgrade? (5/5): Neymar still one of the best players
Despite his injury issues, it can be argued that Neymar still plays football at a very high level and as such he would easily be an upgrade on the Herons' current wingers in the form of Robert Taylor and Leo Afonso.
Logic (4.5/5): An absolute no-brainer for Inter Miami
The ability to sign superstars has set Inter Miami apart from the rest of the competition as they cruised to the MLS Supporters' Shield in 2024.
Signing Neymar is clearly the next big step for the David Beckham-owned club as they would look to challenge for both the MLS titles next season and potentially even the Club World Cup in 2025. However, the Herons will have to weigh up the consequences of the Brazilian's wages on their financial restrictions.
Whisper+ final verdict – 22.5/25
Signing Neymar to recreate MSN will be the biggest dream for Inter Miami as the club looks to constantly increase their stature in world football. As such, the Herons will likely try to tempt the Brazilian to make the move to Florida. Additionally, having two of Neymar's best friends already at the club will also make them an enticing option for the 32-year-old.
