Newcastle are considering paying a significant sum for Real Madrid's French midfielder.

Back in the spotlight after a start to the season hampered by an ankle injury, Eduardo Camavinga received his first start of the season in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, during Real Madrid‘s defeat against Liverpool at Anfield (0-1). Replaced by Rodrygo in the 69th minute, the French midfielder is shining in his new role as right winger, as shown by his performance against FC Barcelona during the Clasico recently won by Xabi Alonso's men (2-1).

Highly appreciated by his managers for his versatility, the former Rennes player has remained faithful to the Casa Blanca since his transfer to the other side of the Pyrenees in the summer of 2021. Having arrived from SRFC for a fee of €31m (£26.5m), Eduardo Camavinga is attracting several European heavyweights. Across the Channel, Liverpool are reportedly interested as is Paris Saint-Germain, a long-standing interest for the capital club who have not closed the file ahead of the next transfer windows.

Newcastle's offer for Camavinga

Under contract until June 2029 and currently valued at €50m (£43m), the Cabinda native appeals to another side from Europe's big five. According to information from Fichajes, Newcastle have in turn positioned themselves on the trail leading to the 22-year-old French international. Qualified this season for the Champions League league phase, the Magpies coached by Eddie Howe have reportedly made an offer of €70m (£60m) for Real Madrid's number six, who has started twice in the last three La Liga matchdays.

Real Madrid are not closing the door to Eduardo Camavinga's departure but intend to wait until the end of this 2025-26 season to decide on the former French championship player's short-term future. He is the fifth La Liga player with the highest successful tackle percentage (71.4 percent) behind Santiago Mourino, Daley Blind, Thiago Almada and Ruben.
