The English press has reported that Paris Saint-Germain have quietly made enquiries about Erling Haaland's situation at Manchester City. Is a big transfer in the works?
At 25 years old, Erling Haaland has established himself as one of the best number 9s in the world over the past few seasons. With 29 goals in 37 matches, the Norway international is once again delivering this season. Having arrived at Manchester City in the summer of 2022 for £50.8m (€60m), the Cyborg extended his contract last winter until June 2034 with the Sky Blues.
As such, one might have thought that departure rumours, notably linking him with Barcelona or Real Madrid, would stop, but that is not really the case. Indeed, according to TeamTalk, the two Spanish giants believe his contract contains a clause that could allow him to fulfil his dream of playing in Spain.
PSG want to be kept informed of Haaland's situation
In any case, moving to Barcelona or Real Madrid after Manchester City seems like the logical next step in Erling Haaland's career. However, the two Spanish heavyweights are not the only ones following the 6ft 5in striker's exploits and hoping to sign him one day. The same source reports that PSG have quietly made enquiries about the Norwegian's long-term situation at the Sky Blues.

As such, this is not interest for next summer, but rather gathering information for the future. TeamTalk explain: “PSG have asked to be kept informed of any developments regarding Haaland's future.” The capital club are therefore positioning themselves, in case a door opens later in this matter.
Haaland: Dembele's replacement at PSG?
The British outlet was keen to confirm that this information gathering about the Cyborg has no direct link to Ousmane Dembele's situation, whose future is described as uncertain. The Ballon d'Or winner recently questioned his teammates' attitude after a defeat at Rennes (3-1) and has still not reached an agreement with the European champions over a contract extension.
In this matter, TeamTalk reveal that Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been contacted regarding the feasibility of a transfer for the former FC Barcelona man at the end of the season. There is no indication that Dembele, who is being courted in Saudi Arabia, will leave PSG at the end of the season, but the French club are preparing for all eventualities. They are therefore monitoring Erling Haaland's situation, although a short-term move to Paris still seems unlikely.
