Less than three weeks before the winter transfer window opening, Manchester City seem to have identified their three candidates for a January departure.
Second in the Premier League and fourth in the Champions League league phase, Manchester City are having a good start to the season. After a frustrating campaign, the Sky Blues rectified matters during the last summer transfer window and started afresh with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Rayan Cherki and also Tijjani Reijnders.
They are also benefiting from Erling Haaland's fine form, who has already scored 21 goals this season for the club. This does not prevent Manchester City from looking ahead to the next transfer window to adjust their squad. According to Football Insider, Pep Guardiola could seek to strengthen his midfield and is notably targeting Adam Wharton.
Manchester City want to recruit Adam Wharton
The Premier League giants have notably sent scouts to observe the Crystal Palace English midfielder more closely. This deal will be difficult to complete as the Eagles do not wish to lose their playmaker mid-season and are already asking for around €80m (£69m).

To finance this potential transfer and perhaps other moves, the English club thus plan to sell three gems for significant amounts this winter. According to Football Insider, Manchester City would reportedly like to sell Savinho (valued at €45m/£38.5m), Rico Lewis (€35m/£29.9m) and Oscar Bobb (€25m/£21.4m) in the next transfer window. These departures could therefore bring in a tidy cheque for the Manchester club.
Savinho, Lewis and Bobb on their way out?
“They have the possibility to sell the players who could have left last summer. Lewis, Savinho in particular, and we can probably add Bobb to that list now,” explained the Sky Blues' former financial advisor, Stefan Borson, highlighting that these three players had disappointed this season during their appearances.
It should be noted that Savinho, who was notably tracked by Tottenham this summer, could be courted again by Spurs, if he is officially placed on the transfer list. Suitors should also not be lacking for the talented City-trained players, Lewis and Bobb.
