Kyle Walker next club: Latest odds

Walker has won it all at City, from six Premier League titles and the 2023 treble to being part of famed Centurions and winning the Club World Cup.

But with the 34-year-old beginning to lose his searing pace, he has not been able to compete at the highest level this season. For that reason, two clubs in a league more suited to his reduced pace currently stand as frontrunners for his signature.

AC Milan – 1/3

Current favourites for Walker's signature are AC Milan, and as discussed in our Whisper+ analysis, it's easy to see why.

The Rossoneri have had success in recruiting wantaway Premier League stars, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Cristian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham currently on the books.

Inter Milan – 5/1

Walker could also end up at the San Siro in a different strip – that of Inter Milan. Felipe Inzaghi's team impressed against Walker's City side in the 2023 Champions League final, despite ultimately being beaten.

Like their neighbours, Inter have had success in rehoming out-of-favour Premier League players. Still a starter at 35, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is living proof of that philosophy being alive and well.

Any Saudi Pro League club – 8/1

A move to Saudi Arabia looked most likely at first, with clubs in the gulf likely able to gazump any European club's salary offer, but reports that Walker would like to stay in Europe have seen odds for such a move lengthen significantly.

Tottenham Hotspur – 20/1

Finally, there are long-shot odds available for Walker to remain in the Premier League and reunite with his old flame, Tottenham.

This move is unlikely, given Spurs' approach of signing youthful players in recent years. But could the veteran defender bring a bit of nous to a rather naïve side?

Time for a new challenge?

Walker is one of Manchester City's longest serving players, having joined back in 2017 for £50m from Tottenham.

His remarkable speed and ability one-on-one quickly became indispensable to City, allowing Guardiola's team to push high up the pitch, without fear of being caught out on the break.

But this season has seen Father Time finally catch up to the mercurial Walker, and he has looked vulnerable as City have struggled. Throw in some personal issues, and now seems the ideal time for a fresh start for the experienced defender.

City have already made plans to replace him, with Abdukodir Khusanov on the verge of joining from Lens. Such has been his service to the club, that City will not stand in the way of Walker's exit.
