Juventus v Napoli H2H record

Juventus and Napoli have played against each other 180 times throughout history with the first Juventus v Napoli H2H taking place in 1926. On that occasion, Napoli succumbed to a 3-0 loss against a strong Juventus side and the Old Lady have continued to dominate the fixture ever since.

  • Juventus Wins: 83
  • Draws: 54
  • Napoli Wins: 43

It's unsurprising that Juventus have the better of the Juventus v Napoli rivalry given they are Italy's most successful football club but Napoli have improved their record against their old rivals in recent years. The biggest match the two teams have played each other in in recent times was the 2020 Coppa Italia final where Napoli came out on top via a penalty shootout at the Stadio Olimpico.

Juventus 2-1 Napoli – 7th April 2021

Juventus' most recent victory against Napoli came in April 2021 when both sides were locked in a race for the top four in Serie A. Juventus were the reigning champions and showed their class on the night with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala earning them the three points despite a late consolation from Insigne. The win proved pivotal with Juventus finishing in fourth – one point ahead of Napoli.

Napoli 2-1 Juventus – 11th September 2021

Napoli got off to a fast start in the 2021/22 season and they welcomed Juventus to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona full of confidence. That confidence was justified with the home side running out 2-1 winners despite going a goal down in the first half. The comeback started when Matteo Politano slid the ball past Wojciech Szczesny before Koulibaly got the all-important winner in the 85th minute.

Juventus 1-1 Napoli – 6th January 2022

These two teams rarely play out draws and the most recent one came in January 2022. Once again, both teams were in the race for the top four which resulted in a cagey affair at the Allianz Stadium. Napoli legend, Dries Mertens gave the away side the lead before Federico Chiesa earned Juventus a point in the second half. In the end, both teams finished inside the top four and played in the Champions League in 2022/23.

Napoli 5-1 Juventus – 13th January 2023

Napoli's greatest-ever victory against Juventus came in January 2023. Luciano Spaletti's men were flying and well on track for a first Scudetto in over 30 years while Juventus were struggling. Victor Osimhen was at his brilliant best, scoring two and providing an assist for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The win was arguably Napoli's most iconic in what turned out to be a fairytale season for the club.

Juventus 0-1 Napoli– 23rd April 2023

By the time Juventus and Napoli played again in 2023, Napoli were all but confirmed as champions. Juventus, on the other hand, were in turmoil and facing a hefty points deduction. The most recent Juventus v Napoli H2H was decided in the 93rd minute when Giacomo Raspadori sent a wicked left-footed effort past Wojciech Szczesny. Two weeks later, Napoli were officially crowned Serie A champions.

Potential MVP – Victor Osimhen

Victor Osimhen recently returned from injury but his return to the Napoli team hasn't yet resulted in an upturn in fortunes. Osimhen was sloppy last weekend against Inter Milan but there is no doubting that the Nigeria striker is still the best striker in Italy and he will be determined to prove that on Friday night against Juventus.

Osimhen was the league's top scorer last season with 26 goals and has six in ten so far this season. His record against Juventus is impressive, too with four wins in five matches and two goals against the Old Lady. Can he improve on that this weekend?
