Expert pools picks for the weekend: Spurs set for scintillating score draw?

Pools are another popular type of betting where players will try to predict the results of a number of games over a week or weekend, with the winner or winners earning a significant prize. In football, predicting score draws contribute towards a bettor’s points tally, and whoever earns the most points over the set of games wins the prize.

As such, we have predicted five matches across the Premier League and Championship this weekend that are likely to end in a score draw:

Fulham v Bournemouth

Fulham and Bournemouth play at 3pm on Saturday in the Premier League at Craven Cottage, having each drawn their last two games in the top flight. They are separated by just one place and one point in the table, so this should be a tight affair.

Tottenham v Brighton

Another Saturday 3pm kick-off sees Spurs host Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League. The hosts drew 2-2 at Everton last time out, and have drawn two of their last three league games, while the visitors have drawn the most matches in the entire division (eight).

Nottingham Forest v Newcastle

Nottingham Forest entertain Newcastle in the Premier League's Saturday evening kick-off, with both sides being held to score draws last time out in the division. Forest narrowly lost to third-place Arsenal 2-1 in their last league game at the City Ground, while Newcastle are one of the highest scorers in the division (48), so this is a tough one to call.

Ipswich v West Brom

It's fourth against fifth in the Championship's opening weekend game as Ipswich host West Brom at Saturday lunchtime. The hosts have drawn four of their last six league matches, and the visitors will be determined to cut the 11-point gap between the sides, so they may cancel each other out.

Middlesbrough v Bristol City

One of the Championship's 3pm Saturday kick-offs sees 12th-placed Middlesbrough host 14th-placed Bristol City. The hosts have drawn their last two league games, while the visitors have drawn three of their previous six, so this looks nicely set up for another stalemate.
