Ever since being bought by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) in 2011, PSG have dominated Ligue 1, winning the title in 12 of the subsequent 16 years.
A result of being owned by such a wealthy business venture is an astronomical wage bill. As such, the list of the highest earners in Ligue 1 is dominated by PSG players, even after an attempt to restructure their wages in recent seasons.
Do any non-PSG players make it into the top five earners in Ligue 1? Let's find out.
Highest-paid players in Ligue 1 this season
Ousmane Dembele – €350,000 per week
Ousmane Dembele is considered the star of the current PSG team, as evidenced by his 2025 Ballon d'Or triumph. Dembele is currently under contract until 2028, so he may well be in for a pay rise in the coming months.
Kvicha Kvaratskhelia – €315,000 per week
While Dembele is the star at PSG, there is an argument that Kvaratskhelia is the club's best or most important player. The Georgian arrived in January 2025, and six months later, PSG were European champions. Eighteen months later, they are back-to-back winners.
Achraf Hakimi- €260,000 per week
Achraf Hakimi is the current captain at PSG, so he was always going to feature highly on this list. The Moroccan full-back signed his most recent extension in Paris in the summer of 2025, so won't be in line for new terms anytime soon.
Ferran Torres – €260,000 per week
Ferran Torres is PSG's latest blockbuster signing. The former Barcelona man, who scored the winning goal in this summer's World Cup final, has put pen to paper on a five-year deal worth €260,000 per week.
Lucas Hernandez- €255,000 per week
Lucas Hernandez rounds off the top five, which is interesting as he wouldn't feature in a list of PSG's best five players. While he is a solid defender and someone you would want in the squad for his versatility, there are better players at the club who earn less.

Highest-paid non-PSG players in the Bundesliga
As we can see, all five of the highest-paid Ligue 1 players play for PSG. At the same time, the wage bill isn't as high as it once was, nor is it as high as what Bayern Munich are paying their players over in Germany.
To reach a Ligue 1 player on the top earners list who doesn't play for PSG, you have to scroll down to #12. The following players are the highest earners away from PSG.
- Lois Openda – €140,000 per week
- Pierre-Emile Hojberg – €122,000 per week
- Moussa Niakhate – €104,000 per week
- Seko Fofana – €104,000 per week
- Geoffrey Kondogbia – €104,000 per week
While nobody would turn their nose up at these figures, it is easy to understand why many players seek a move to the Premier League from Ligue 1, as players of a similar ability to those listed above earn more in England.
