Chelsea are pushing ahead of Liverpool and other Premier League sides in the race to sign Jamie Gittens, having made a formal enquiry to Borussia Dortmund over the 20-year-old.

A tally of 16 goal involvements in 26 outings so far this season has propelled Gittens into the spotlight, and sent his market value soaring to £42.3 million.
Given that he's under contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2028, Chelsea will have to pay heavily to bring the Londoner back home, especially with Dortmund in no hurry to sell.

He may have never played senior football at home, but the former Reading and Man City product was schooled in the English academy system.
As for Chelsea, Enzo Maresca's use of wingers who can cut inside or take on their marker makes Gittens a solid choice of target for the Blues.
