Whisper+ analysis
Authenticity (2/5): Fulham keen on Caci
Fulham are reportedly weighing up whether to make a move for Mainz's Caci in the summer transfer window.
That is according to TEAMtalk, who claim that the Cottagers view Caci as a ‘key target' after keeping tabs on his performances.
Value (3.5/5): Fulham learn Caci asking price
Fulham supposedly made contact with Mainz in January to find out what it would take to prise the 27-year-old away from the Bundesliga club.
There is a belief that Mainz will demand around €8m (£6.8m) to €10m (£8.5m) for a player who is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract
Suitability (2/5): Would Caci adapt to Fulham's system?
There is a suggestion that Fulham are looking to recruit Caci to play at right-back, which would be a slight change from the role he currently plays in Bo Henriksen's side. The Frenchman tends to operate as a right midfielder in Henriksen's 3-4-2-1 system.
Caci has at least shown versatility through his career, having previously operated at left and right-back as well as spending some time as a central defender.
Upgrade? (2.5/5): Tete replacement
Having spent the current campaign playing as a right midfielder, there may be some concern as to whether Caci is a suitable replacement for Tete, who is likely to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Logic (3.5/5): Premier League challenge
After spending his career in France and Germany, Caci may be open to the prospect of trying a new challenge in the English top flight. However, he may be reluctant to leave Mainz if they are able to secure Champions League qualification.
Whisper+ verdict: 13.5/25
Caci does not seem like the right candidate to replace Tete if the right-back leaves Craven Cottage this summer. However, his versatility could make him a useful addition to the Fulham squad, especially as Marco Silva may need more depth if his team secures European qualification.
