Everton will be looking to make it three consecutive victories in all competitions when they welcome Coventry City to Hill Dickinson Stadium in the Premier League on Friday night.

David Moyes's side have enjoyed an encouraging week, beating Newcastle United twice, including a 1-0 win at St James' Park. Coventry also arrive in decent form, having won three of their last five league matches, but their defensive numbers suggest they could struggle to contain Everton's attacking threat.

Thierno Barry has been particularly lively in front of goal recently, and the Frenchman looks worth backing to register plenty of attempts against Frank Lampard's side.

The Sky Blues have been one of the Premier League's more generous sides when it comes to allowing opposition shots, ranking as the third-worst team in the division for shots faced.

Lampard's men have conceded at least 16 attempts in six of their last seven matches, a trend that should encourage Barry to be positive whenever he gets an opportunity around the penalty area.

The Toffees forward has averaged 3.80 shots per 90 minutes across 12 appearances in all competitions this season, with 1.99 of those efforts finding the target.

He registered three attempts in 80 minutes against the Magpies last time out, while his performance against fellow newcomers Hull City was even more impressive. Barry recorded five shots, three of which were on target, before his replacement added another after being substituted.

His recent goal contributions also make the scoring markets worth considering, too. Barry has found the net four times in his last six appearances, including three direct goal involvements across his last two outings.

Everton are not necessarily guaranteed to dominate possession or create a huge number of chances, but Coventry's willingness to concede attempts should give Barry opportunities to test the goalkeeper.

With his recent shooting numbers and confidence in front of goal, backing him to register at least two shots on target or four attempts looks a sensible approach.

Barry is averaging almost two shots on target per 90 minutes this season and has registered three in a single match against Hull. Coventry's recent record for shots conceded makes this an appealing price.

Thierno Barry over 3.5 shots – 7/5 (2.40) with BetVictor

The Everton striker averages 3.80 attempts per 90 minutes and has already demonstrated that he is willing to shoot regularly. With Coventry conceding 16 or more shots in six of their last seven games, he should have opportunities to reach four attempts.

Thierno Barry over 1.5 shots on target, over 3.5 shots and to score – 16/5 (4.20) with bet365

This bet builder combines Barry's impressive shooting volume with his recent goalscoring form. He has scored four times in his last six appearances, and Coventry's defensive numbers suggest he could enjoy another productive evening.
