Chelsea vs Man United: Bruno Fernandes odds offer serious value at 10/3

Chelsea will welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with both teams coming into the game on the back of bruising defeats.

Michael Carrick can perhaps count himself fortunate to still be in a job after United's recent performances, but he has been given an opportunity to turn things around.

If Carrick is to somehow recover from such a low point, he is going to need Bruno Fernandes on side. Reports this week have stated the two men have cleared the air and that Fernandes is committed to turning the club's fortunes around.

As such, can we expect a big performance from the Portuguese midfielder in West London?

Fernandes is priced at 10/3 to have more than three shots on Saturday, and his recent form suggests this is well within reach.

The United captain has had 23 shots in seven Premier League appearances this season, at an average of 3.29 per match. Interestingly, he has been more trigger-happy away from home, with 3+ shots being recorded in each of his four appearances away from Old Trafford this season.

Fernandes is the type of player who wants to be the difference-maker, particularly in the biggest games, so he will be eager to get on the scoresheet on Saturday.

His last Premier League goal was against Ipswich on the second weekend of the season, so he is due one.

Set pieces could be key for Fernandes

Fernandes takes Man Utd's penalties and direct free-kicks, which only increases the number of shooting opportunities he gets each week. Interestingly, he has managed to rack up his shot tally this season despite not taking a single penalty.

That could all change this weekend, as Man Utd have been awarded two penalties against Chelsea in the last three years. On both occasions, Fernandes converted coolly from the spot.

It would be remiss not to mention the possibility that Fernandes starts on the bench, as he did against Bournemouth last weekend. However, given the news about him making up with Carrick, this feels highly unlikely.
