Egypt vs Mozambique prediction – Betting tips & odds
Hot Tip – Egypt to Win-to-Nil
- Egypt have won and kept a clean sheet in each of their last four meetings with Mozambique.
- Egypt have kept four clean sheets in their last five matches across all competitions.
Another reason why we're backing Egypt to win to nil in this game is that Mozambique failed to score in their recent World Cup qualifier against Algeria.

Egypt vs Mozambique team news
Egypt
Egypt claimed a 2-0 victory in their per-AFCON friendly against Tanzania on Sunday and look ready to give it their all in search of an eighth Africa Cup of Nations trophy. Egypt last won this competition back in 2010, pre-Mohamed Salah who earned his first cap a year later.
Mahmoud Hamdy, Ramy Rabia, Abdallah El Said, Mohamed Magdy, Ramadan Sobhi, Kahraba and Koka are not in the squad for the upcoming AFCON.
Predicted Lineup: M. El Shenawy (GK), Gabr, Hany, Mohamed Hamdy, Abdelmonem, Elneny, Trézéguet, Zizo, Fathy, Salah & Mohamed
Mozambique
Mozambique's final warm-up game against Botswana ended in a 1-1 draw but Chiquinho Conde's men are going to have to be at their very best if they are to get anything out of Sunday's match. Mozambique don't have much experience at the AFCON with their best finish of 8th arriving in 1986. Since then, Mozambique have only made it to three other AFCONs with 2023 set to be their fifth participation in the world-famous tournament.
Zainadine Júnior, Manuel Kambala, Isac de Carvalho and Luís Miquissone are the big names in Mozambique football that haven't been called up to the final AFCON squad for one reason or another.
Predicted Lineup: Ernani (GK), Mexer, Malembana, Langa, Mandava, Dominguês, Clésio, Guima, Shaquille, Ratifo & Catamo

Player to Watch: Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah is the obvious choice for the player to watch in this game as the Egyptian is arguably the most talented player in the tournament and has been in great form for club and country this season.
Salah, who is approaching 100 caps for Egypt, will fancy his chances of finishing as the top goalscorer at AFCON 2023 and if he does that, Egypt will have gone far, if not, all the way in this competition. The 31-year-old heads into Egypt's opening game on the back of six goals in his last ten appearances for club and country and Mozambique are going to have trouble stopping this in-form forward on Sunday.
