Following the injury sustained by Achraf Hakimi against Bayern Munich (1-2) in the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain are working to find a right-back as the winter transfer window approaches. Competition is intensifying for the Daniel Munoz trail.

PSG chose not to recruit a right-back this summer, a decision by Luis Campos and Luis Enrique. This choice ultimately proves to be a losing one with Achraf Hakimi's serious injury. Paris must therefore now probe the market to find a player who can provide cover during the Moroccan's unavailability period, as he hopes to play in AFCON. In the meantime, Joao Neves or Warren Zaire-Emery will fill in but this solution is not sustainable.

Currently, one of the hottest trails leads to Daniel Munoz. At Crystal Palace since 2024, the Colombian full-back has a very offensive profile and could satisfy Luis Enrique's requirements. But according to information from outlet Fichajes, Chelsea and also Barcelona are also following the 29-year-old player. Competition risks being particularly fierce this winter.

Barcelona overshadow PSG in Daniel Munoz case

The Daniel Munoz case will be one of the most intense to follow in the coming weeks, at the time of the winter transfer window opening. Barcelona have difficulties in defence and could seek to strengthen, particularly to bring competition to Jules Kounde. For their part, Chelsea do not appear to need reinforcement in their right corridor, with the presence already of Malo Gusto and Reece James.

Last season, Daniel Munoz scored six goals and provided eight assists, all competitions combined. Offensively inclined, the 29-year-old player is valued at €25m (£21.5m) on Transfermarkt. He is still under contract with the Eagles until June 2029. He is clearly an option being considered by PSG to strengthen this winter. However, they will need to be more persuasive than Barcelona but Paris have greater room for manoeuvre financially.
