Chelsea v Fulham last five H2Hs: Can the Blues continue their West London dominance?

Chelsea welcome Fulham to Stamford Bridge on Saturday for the second West London derby of the season. Unlike on other recent occasions, the two clubs are only separated by three places and four points which makes this a derby with higher stakes than simply bragging rights. The Chelsea v Fulham last five H2Hs indicate that the Blues should stretch their lead over Fulham to seven points but with how poorly Chelsea have been playing this season, anything could happen.

Chelsea v Fulham H2H record

The Chelsea v Fulham rivalry is one of the most one-sided in Premier League history in terms of local derbies. The Blues have dominated this fixture throughout time but particularly in the Premier League era where Fulham have only beaten Chelsea twice in 33 attempts.

  • Chelsea Wins: 51
  • Draws: 27
  • Fulham Wins: 12

While Chelsea have always historically been a top-flight side in English football, Fulham have yo-yo'd between the divisions. The first meeting between the two clubs came in 1910 when they were both in Divison Two. On that occasion, Fulham recorded a 1-0 victory which in hindsight, they should have savoured as they then had to wait 26 years to beat the Blues again.

Potential MVP – Cole Palmer

In what has been a disappointing season for Chelsea, Cole Palmer has been a rare shining light. The ex-Man City man has shone in a free role behind the forwards for the Blues and has also been deadly from the penalty spot. In total, Palmer has netted eight Premier League goals in 16 appearances this season and will want to make his mark on the West London derby.

Key trend

Looking at the Chelsea v Fulham H2H record, the most obvious trend to look at is the fact that Chelsea win more often than not.
