Chelsea are reportedly stepping up their interest in Rennes striker Kader Meite, as the club continues to scout emerging talents across Europe ahead of the 2026 summer window.

According to Fichajes, the reigning FIFA Club World Cup champions have been monitoring the 17-year-old closely following his impressive performances in Ligue 1. Meite has already scored and provided an assist this season, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most promising forwards in French football.

The teenager, who stands at 1.92m, has been tipped for a big future and is attracting attention despite his limited experience at senior level. He had already caught the eye late last season and has continued to build momentum during the current campaign.

Rennes are well known for developing young talent, and Kader Meite could be the next big name to leave Roazhon Park. Although currently valued at €5m (£4.3m), the French club are expected to demand a significantly higher fee should Chelsea make a formal approach.

Despite being only 17, Meite has already played a key role in Rennes' early season form—scoring from the bench against Lyon and helping to energise an otherwise inconsistent attack.

The Premier League giants are believed to be weighing up a January move, though a summer transfer remains more likely given Meite’s ongoing development and Rennes’ reluctance to part ways mid-season.
