Several strikers are picking up form in Germany, leading to several stand-out options in this week’s Bundesliga first goalscorer predictions.
Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane will be looking to strike early against relegation candidates Mainz. Serhou Guirassy could also continue his sensational goal return against lowly Union Berlin.

Bayern Munich vs Mainz first goalscorer – Harry Kane – 12/5
Bayern Munich may not be in the most threatening form, after dropping points in three of their last four Bundesliga matches.
Despite Die Roten’s downturn in form, Harry Kane has provided a bright spark for the Bavarians. The England captain has hit the net three times in as many Bundesliga matches. Including a match opener in Bayern’s 2-1 home win over RB Leipzig.
Kane was also on top form during a midweek Champions League win against Lazio, as two goals took the 30-year-old’s tally in all competitions to 33 for the season. A 39th-minute header from Kane settled the nerves inside the Allianz Arena, and the striker completed the scoring midway through the second half.
Kane also made a fast start in the reverse Bundesliga fixture against Mainz this season. It took just 16 minutes for the striker to get off the mark at the MEWA Arena and Kane will be confident of adding to his Bundesliga goal count on Saturday.
RB Leipzig vs Darmstadt first goalscorer – Lois Openda – 13/5
RB Leipzig’s top scorer Lois Openda has started 2024 in electric form, particularly in the Bundesliga, with six goals in seven matches.
Openda scored in five consecutive matches between mid-January and February, and two of these were Leipzig openers.
With 17 goals for the campaign, the Belgian striker will be confident of continuing his purple patch in Leipzig’s next match against bottom-side Darmstadt. The Lilies have conceded a league-high of 58 goals this season, representing a good chance of an early Openda strike.
Vfb Stuttgart vs Union Berlin first goalscorer – Serhou Guirassy – 3/1
Trailing Kane in the Bundesliga goal-scoring chart for the 2023/24 season – despite a strong start – is Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy. The Guinea international has been the attacking focal point for a free-flowing Stuttgart side and has scored 20 league goals in 15 starts.
Guirassy doesn’t allow defences to rest in the Bundesliga, and he has one of the best XG rates in the league this season, producing 1.01 XG per game.
Fast starts have also been a common theme for Guirassy recently, especially against lower-table opponents. The 27-year-old has been the first goalscorer in his last two goalscoring appearances. Both opening strikes came in the 14th minute against bottom-side Darmstadt and 14th-placed Wolfsburg.
Another Bundesliga struggler in Union Berlin (13th place) could fall foul to the goalscoring force of Guirassy on Friday evening.
Augsburg vs FC Heidenheim first goalscorer – Ermedin Demirovic – 24/5
Augsburg’s quest to break into the Bundesliga’s European places has stalled due to some patchy recent form. However, the Fuggerstädter certainly can’t be blamed for a lack of trying, having scored the joint second-most Bundesliga goals across the last six matches (13).
Ermedin Demirovic has scored nearly 50% of these goals, netting six in as many league matches, including braces against Bayern Munich and Darmstadt.
The in-form Bosnia-Herzegovina will be looking forward to the visit of leaky FC Heidenheim to the WWK Arena this weekend. Heidenheim’s defence has conceded six goals in their last three Bundesliga matches, and the mid-table side have shipped three in the first half in their last two matches.
Demirovic will therefore be hopeful of putting Heidenheim to the sword in Bavaria.
