Frankfurt have scored at least two goals in four of their six matches in all competitions this season

Eintracht Frankfurt will hope to avoid becoming locked in a Bundesliga relegation battle by beating visitors Koln on Friday at Deutsche Bank Park.

Frankfurt managed to finish third as recently as the 2024-25 season, securing Champions League football, but they find themselves in the midst of a relegation battle.

The Eagles may only have played five league fixtures so far, but over their last 28 Bundesliga games, they have taken just 29 points, a total that would average out at 35 points across a full league campaign.

Boss Adi Hutter is already under pressure despite only being appointed in May, and a loss on the weekend would be his third defeat in seven games in charge, with his two victories to date coming against SC St.Tonis in the DFB-Pokal first round and against Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga on September 12.

The hosts' injury issues are not particularly serious, and fans can expect to see a front two consisting of Jonathan Burkardt and Younes Ebnoutalib on Friday.

Koln's only goal for the season will be to secure survival, and they will be pleased to have made a positive start to the campaign.

Their most recent result was a 2-1 victory against Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend, and that means they have totalled seven points after five matchweeks, equalling the tally they had at the same stage in 2025-26.

Manager Rene Wagner will know that his side are winless in two meetings with Frankfurt, with their opponents claiming a point following a 2-2 stalemate in April, and claiming three points in November 2025 when they won 4-3.

The Billy Goats will need defenders Jahmai Simpson-Pusey and Luka Lochoshvili to be at their best, especially with Timo Hubers and Rav van den Berg ruled out.

Whispers predicts: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-2 Koln

The bookmakers overwhelming back a home win at 10/11 (1.91), but a draw at 31/10 (4.1) should not be discounted.

Considering the hosts have scored two or more goals in four of their six games this season, betting Over 1.5 Goals for Eintracht Frankfurt at 1/2 (1.5) may be the way to go.

However, Frankfurt have frequently conceded two or more goals in games this season, and their frailty makes a prediction of Over 1.5 Goals for Koln at 1/1 (2) a strong bet.

Given Can Uzun has created more chances in the Bundesliga than any other Frankfurt player so far, there could be value in predicting Can Uzun to Assist at 4/1 (5).

📈 Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Koln — Whispers' Tips

> Over 1.5 Goals for Eintracht Frankfurt at 1/2 (1.5) | Likelihood: High

> Over 1.5 Goals for Koln at 1/1 (2) | Likelihood: Medium

> Can Uzun to Assist at 4/1 (5) | Likelihood: Low
