Do the Brentford vs Chelsea last five H2Hs suggest this is a good bounce-back fixture for Chelsea? Let's take a look.

Brentford vs Chelsea H2H record

Despite both teams being just around the corner from one and other, they have only played each other 20 times in their respective histories. This is largely due to the fact that Brentford have rarely been a top-flight club throughout their history whereas Chelsea have been Division One/Premier League regulars.

  • Brentford Wins: 7
  • Draws: 3
  • Chelsea Wins: 10

Despite the gulf in size between the two clubs, Brentford have a decent record against Chelsea. The Blues have only won 50% of their matches against the Beess with Brentford frequently getting the better of Chelsea since their promotion in 2021.

Brentford 0-0 Chelsea – 19th October 2022

Potential MVP – Neil Maupay

There is no doubt that Brentford are now in a relegation battle but without Neil Maupay this season, they would be in a far more precarious position. Maupay has been impressive since re-signing for the club from Everton and he has scored six goals and made three assists in 21 appearances for Brentford so far.

All six of those goals have come since the turn of the year with Maupay very much the man of the moment. If they are to have any joy against Chelsea on Saturday, then Maupay will be needed.

Key trend

Based on the Brentford vs Chelsea last five H2Hs, Mauricio Pochettino will not be looking forward to this fixture. Brentford have won three of their last four Premier League matches against Chelsea with the Blues only enjoying one victory over Brentford since the Bees secured promotion to the Premier League in 2021. Brentford to win on Saturday is priced at 21/10 (3.10).
