Brentford have started their first Premier League season really well but they face a tough task against the current league leaders Chelsea in Saturday's late kick-off. Any recent history between these two clubs has arrived in the FA Cup but Brentford have improved significantly since then and at home, they have proven to be a very tough opponent.

Brentford Double Chance

We're going against the odds and backing Brentford with a double chance bet this weekend. The hosts have only lost once in their own backyard in all competitions so far and held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw in their last home game. Chelsea could be without a number of their key players this weekend due to injuries picked up just before and during the international break and that could weaken the league leaders.

BTTS

We're backing both teams to score in this game as that has been the case in three of Brentford's last six outings, as well as in two of Chelsea's last four fixtures. Brentford's last two league games saw both teams score and produced a win against West Ham and a draw with Liverpool. Chelsea conceded a goal at home to Southampton but went on to win the game and Tuchel's men have only kept two clean sheets in their last six attempts.

Over 2.5 Goals

At least three goals have been scored in five of the last six meetings between these two clubs, though, only three of those games have taken place since the turn of the century. Brentford's last three outings in league and cup have all produced over 2.5 goals and two of Chelsea's last three outings in the Premier League have also witnessed over 2.5 goals.

Can Brentford continue their excellent start to the season at home to Chelsea?

The Bees secured an excellent 2-1 away win against West Ham last time out, a result that should give Brentford plenty of confidence heading into a very tough home game against Chelsea. Mbeumo put the visitors in front against the Hammers but an equaliser from Bowen 10-minutes from time looked to have earned West Ham a point. However, deep into stoppage time Wissa scored a dramatic late winner for Brentford and sent the travelling fans into hysteria.

Chelsea weren't at their very best against Southampton and needed a sending-off and two late goals to grab all 3pts. Chalobah scored his second goal of the season to put the home side in front in the 9th0minute but Ward-Prowse equalised from the penalty spot just after the hour mark. Following Ward-Prowse's sending-off in the 77th-minute, Chelsea scored two late goals through Werner and Chilwell to win the game. Chelsea could be without a selection of their key players this weekend due to injuries picked up just before and during the international break that could have a major impact on Tuchel's starting eleven against Brentford.

Team News

Brentford: Ajer is a doubt for Saturday's match and Sorensen, Dasilva, Janelt and Baptiste have already been ruled out through injury.

Chelsea: the visitors could be without Silva, Rudiger, Lukaku, Pulisic, James and Kante this weekend if they fail to pass late fitness tests.
