Birmingham vs Coventry: Our top betting tips

Birmingham had a huge win in the week; will they follow that up here with another three points? Find out with our Birmingham vs Coventry match preview with free tips, predictions and odds mentioned along the way.

Brum to keep their engines running with another win

We kick off our predictions for this game by backing Birmingham to win. They've won each of their last two games, which has improved the way the table looks for them considerably, and with both of those wins coming away from home they'll be arriving at St Andrews to a hyped up crowd, which will help them. Coventry meanwhile are having an awful time of things. They've not won all season and have lost five of their last six games; it would need the formbook of both sides to be torn up for the Sky Blues to get anything from this game.

Hotshot Hogan to score again

Scott Hogan will be on cloud nine right now after scoring a derby day hat-trick in the week against West Brom and we fancy him to score again here against a Coventry team that have not kept a clean sheet all season. As mentioned, Hogan was on fire in the week and those three goals continued his great start to the season taking his tally to five goals in nine games. With chances likely to be created, a confident striker is a dangerous proposition.

Basement club Coventry looking for a win

Coventry remain hard bottom in the Championship right now and whilst they have games in hand seeing that gap open up above them can be quite the daunting thing to look at. A trip to a buoyant Blues is perhaps not the ideal trip for them right now but one way or another, they need to find a result. Birmingham meanwhile will be looking to kick on from their midtable position.

Birmingham aren't flying high in the table but you have to feel a bit sorry for the Blues; their squad is under a fair bit of pressure on the injury front. George Friend, Gary Gardner, Przemyslaw Placheta and Nico Gordon are amongst those injured for this game – and none are even in contention to make a late play for a spot on the bench!

Birmingham Predicted lineup – Ruddy, Sanderson, Roberts, Trusty, Williams, Chong, Bielik, Colin, Bacuna, Hogan, Deeney

We've just spoken of Birmingham's injury list and Coventry's isn't all that much better. They've got at least four missing from this match with Callum O'Hare and Todd Kane amongst those missing.

Coventry Predicted lineup – Wilson, Doyle, McFazdean, Rose, Bidwell, Sheaf, Hamer, Allen, Dabo, Godden, Gyokeres
