5. Aleksandar Mitrovic

The Serbian enters the list straight away as Mitrovic was arguably Al Hilal's best buy in 2023. The striker notched up an impressive 40 goals in just 43 appearances in total across all competitions in his first season, finishing in second place in the Saudi Pro League's Golden Boot race with 28 goals behind Al Nassr talisman Cristiano Ronaldo (35).

Last season Mitrovic was marred by injuries and that was a huge reason why Al Hilal failed to defend the title. The Serbian striker also came out of favour with the new coach Simone Inzaghi, so Mitrovic will continue his career at Al Rayyan in Qatar.

4. Darwin Nunez

With many European teams battling for Nunez's signature this summer, it was Al Hilal who managed to win that battle and sign the Uruguayan forward from Liverpool.

His arrival was another major reason why Al Hilal decided to part ways with their best goalscorer in the last two seasons, Mitrovic, as Nunez should be able to provide the same goalscoring threat as the Serb. At 26 years of age, Nunez enters the prime of his career.

3. Ruben Neves

Third on the list is another marquee signing from the 2023 summer in Ruben Neves, who Al Hilal managed to prize away from Wolves in the Premier League. This was seen as a huge coup, as some big clubs in the English top flight were lurking over the Portugal international.

Neves formed a formidable partnership with Milinkovic-Savic in midfield, netting 10 times in 98 appearances in his two season at the club. If Al Hilal want to win the title again, it will be crucial to keep both players fit and firing again.

2. Malcom

Al Hilal's second-most expensive signing of all time is Malcom, as the tricky winger joined their ranks from Russian club Zenit in 2023. He did not manage to score as many goals as Mitrovic in his debut season, but 23 is still a respectable total.

On top of that, Malcom remains at the club, unlike Mitrovic, and he'll have a chance to further improve on his total tally of 40 goals in 102 appearances at Al Hilal.

1. Neymar

Neymar is not only Al Hilal's most expensive signing but the most expensive transfer ever made in the Saudi Pro League. His move from PSG last summer sent shockwaves around the footballing world in what was a real statement from the mega-rich Saudis.

However, Neymar's debut season was scuppered by injury. He made only seven appearances and scored just once. To make the matters even worse, the Brazilian left the club shortly after this season and
