Several Premier League teams remain heavily linked with new signings, as they continue to make preparations for the summer transfer window.

The likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United and Arsenal are all in the news for differing reasons, with the latter lining up a surprise move for one of Mikel Arteta's former teammates.

Here are your biggest stories today:

Manchester United, who were rather quiet during the January transfer window, have already drawn up plans for the summer, with the club thought to be targeting an influx of homegrown talent.

Reports suggest, however, that Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson is their no.1 target, but with the England international under contract at the City Ground until 2029, he won't come cheap.

An £80 million price tag has been bandied about, while the likes of AFC Bournemouth gem Alex Scott and Newcastle United full-back Lewis Hall are also on the shortlist.

There is no doubt that the Forest man would be a considerable upgrade on their current midfield options, with the 23-year-old already picking up six caps under Thomas Tuchel, a manager who could also be linked with the Red Devils come the summer.

Newcastle star Sandro Tonali wanted by Serie A giants

On deadline day, a shock claim emerged that the agent of Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali had offered his services to league leaders Arsenal.

Now, the Italian is being linked with a return to the Serie A, where Juventus have reportedly made him their top target for the summer transfer window, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 25-year-old used to be at fierce rivals AC Milan before joining the Magpies in a £60 million deal back in July 2023.

It's thought that Newcastle's failure to qualify for the Champions League this season could make the Italy international more viable for a move come the summer, especially given financial fair play regulations.

Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain eyed by Celtic

One of the more intriguing stories has emerged after the January transfer window, with former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain thought to be in talks over a move to Scottish giants Celtic.

Interestingly, the Gunners retain an interest in bringing him back to the club, but in a coaching capacity, as per the Daily Mail.

The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Super Lig outfit Besiktas in August, but in recent months, he has been completing his coaching badges at his old stomping ground while training with the club's under-21s for fitness.

Arteta is said to be a huge fan of his ex-Gunners teammate and is keen on hiring him to his coaching staff once he hangs up his boots.
