Authenticity (4/5): Reliable Telegraph links Livramento with City
Manchester City are set to prioritise strengthening their full-back area following Kyle Walker's exit and have accordingly set their sights on Newcastle United right-back Tino Livramento.
That is according to The Telegraph, who add that Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso is also on City's radar.
Value (2.5/5): Magpies to demand big
The Saudi-backed outfit spent a fee in the region of £40million to sign Livramento from Southampton. Since then, the ex-Chelsea man's reputation has only strengthened, earning him an England call-up. Accordingly, expect the Magpies to demand a considerable fee before they consider sanctioning his exit.
Suitability (3.5/5): Modern full-back
The 22-year-old is a solid defender of his flank and at the same time, he likes to relentlessly bomb forward and provide an attacking option out wide when Eddie Howe's side are in possession of the ball. His tenacity and attacking instincts should impress Guardiola.
Upgrade? (4/5): Much-needed arrival
Walker's surprise move to AC Milan has been a huge cause of selection headache for Guardiola, who has been forced to rely on the young Rico Lewis to protect the right flank. Lewis, however, has struggled to deal with the Premier League's intensity and physicality. The arrival of Livramento would greatly ease the Spaniard's concerns.
Logic (4/5): Appealing move
Newcastle are trying to build an ambitious project and have shown no desire to sell their promising stars. However, an opportunity to challenge for major trophies under Guardiola could entice Livramento into pushing for an exit.
Whisper+ verdict: 18/25
With Livramento tied to Newcastle until 2028, there's little City would be able to do should Howe decide to keep hold of his talented right-back.
