Watford vs Swansea: Our top betting tips

Watford got Slaven Bilic's managerial reign off to an absolute flyer at the weekend; will they continue that fine start here as they welcome Swansea to Vicarage Road? Find out with our Watford vs Swansea match preview with free tips, predictions and odds mentioned along the way.

Watford to win it

Our first tip for this match is that Watford will win. The Hornets had just one win in 10 prior to Bilic arriving into the hot seat but, even then, they were drawing a lot of games – they weren't uncompetitive. All of a sudden though the mood around the club has changed and it is courtesy of the absolute demolition job they dished out at Stoke on Sunday as they won 4-0. Swansea won a back and forwards encounter at West Brom at the weekend so won't be a pushover but they have a poor record against Watford with four defeats in the last five clashes and, for us, that's the difference hence we're opting for a home win.

Both sides will score

Although neither of these teams are exactly flying high in the table one thing they have been doing is scoring goals and we think they'll both hit the net here. Watford, fresh off a 4-0 win, have scored in four of their last five games racking up nine goals in that period whilst Swansea, who have also failed to score in just one of their last five games, have hit eight goals in that time with six of them coming in their last two outings. Four of the last five head to head games have ended with goals at both ends as well.

Has Bilic given Hornets their sting back?

We've already alluded to neither of these teams flying high in the table and whilst that is true, recent results have introduced positivity at the clubs with both now looking up at the playoffs. For Watford, that gap is just one point whilst Swansea are just two further back. That means that there is a serious incentive for both sides to go and win this game. It should be a highly entertaining watch.

Slaven Bilic has barely got his feet under the table and yet it would seem the Watford squad are bouncing already. Think what they'll be like in his first home game! A couple of players will be missing from the side though including Jeremy Ngakia and Tom Cleverley – both are injured.

Watford Predicted lineup – Bachmann, Mario, Kamara, Sierralta, Kabasele, Keyembe, Choudhury, Asprilla, Sarr, Sema, Davis

Swansea have looked much better the last couple of games and they'll be confident of giving a good account of themselves here. That's something that is helped by a limited injury list with just Liam Walsh and Liam Cullen out injured; neither have featured at all this season.

Swansea Predicted lineup – Benda, Cabango, Naughton, Wood, Manning, Grimes Cundle, Sorinola, Cooper, Fulton, Piroe
