Whisper+ analysis
Authenticity (2/5): Spurs eyeing surprise Madueke move
Spurs are reportedly weighing up a potential summer move for Chelsea's Madeueke, who previously spent around four years in Tottenham's academy.
That is according to Football Insider, whose exclusives should be treated with an element of caution.
The report claims that Tottenham are among a number of clubs who are keeping a close eye on Madueke's situation at Stamford Bridge.
Value (2/5): Chelsea in strong position
Tottenham will certainly have their work cut out to prise Madueke away from their London rivals. The Blues are under no immediate pressure to part ways with the attacker, who is under contract until the summer of 2030, with an option to extend by a further year.
Suitability (4/5): Talented winger
The 23-year-old is a winger who likes to cut inside from the right flank on his favoured left foot. Madeuke likes to carry the ball and link up with his teammates around the opposition box.
The attacker can also add to his team's goal threat, demonstrated by the fact that he has scored seven goals in Premier League appearances. However, he has only registered three assists this season, which is an area he could improve.
Upgrade? (3/5): Kulusevski competition
Kulusevski is currently regarded as Tottenham's first-choice right wing option, meaning Madueke would not be guaranteed a regular starting spot in North London.
Logic (2.5/5): European football doubts
Madueke continues to be linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge despite starting 20 of his 25 Premier League appearances this season.
However, if he were to leave, he would surely want to join a club that can offer him European football, which is something Spurs will not have on the table unless they win the Europa League.
Whisper+ verdict: 13.5/25
We have serious doubts about the plausibility of this rumour. Chelsea will surely demand a significant fee for Madueke, and they may also be reluctant to sell directly to their London rivals.
