Liverpool hold talks over record Wirtz deal
Despite interest from Europe's biggest clubs, including Bayern, Wirtz has decided to join Arne Slot's Liverpool as he is understood to be impressed by the club's plans for him.
The Guardian reports the Reds are “favourites” to sign the Germany international and negotiations have started over a fee with Bayer Leverkusen, who are demanding £126million for their prized asset, who has been involved in over 30 goals this season. Liverpool's current transfer record is the £85million deal for Darwin Nunez, but Wirtz's signing should comfortably eclipse that figure. Whispers Rating: 4/5
