Switzerland have responded impressively to their relegation from League A last season, opening their return to the second tier with back-to-back victories by three-goal margins.

Murat Yakin's side began with a 3-0 triumph away to North Macedonia before producing the same scoreline against Scotland at Hampden Park, leaving them perfectly placed to challenge for promotion.

The latest victory was secured as Switzerland spent more than 80 minutes against 10 men, with Ricardo Rodriguez and Nico Elvedi finding the net before Zeki Amdouni completed the scoring late on.

That result leaves the Red Crosses unbeaten in regulation time in 11 matches (W6, D5), though they suffered an extratime defeat to Argentina in the 2026 World Cup.

Slovenia have also made a positive start under Bostjan Cesar after needing a Nations League playoff to retain their League B status last season.

A goalless stalemate with Scotland preceded Tuesday's 2-0 victory over North Macedonia, with Sandri Lovric breaking the deadlock shortly after the interval before Aljosa Matko added his first international goal late on.

That victory represented a welcome response after Slovenia had managed only one win across their previous 11 matches.

The visitors will now face a much tougher examination against a Swiss side that defeated them 3-0 when they last met just over a year ago.

Slovenia's away record provides another concern ahead of the trip, as they have won only one of their last six matches on foreign soil while drawing two and losing three.

Whispers predicts: Switzerland 2-0 Slovenia

Switzerland's win price of 1.33 (1/3) offers limited value on its own, but their early performances make a home victory difficult to overlook.

The first-half goals market provides a more appealing route, with Switzerland over 0.5 first-half goals at 1.53 (8/15) offering a reasonable return given how quickly they have found attacking rhythm in recent matches.

Amdouni to score anytime at 2.10 (11/10) is also worth considering after the forward scored three times across Switzerland's opening two Nations League matches.

Both teams to score – No at 1.60 (3/5) provides another attractive angle, as Slovenia's recent matches have generally been low-scoring and Switzerland have shown the defensive control to keep opponents quiet.

A 2-0 Switzerland victory at 5.50 (9/2) therefore looks like an appealing correct-score selection, with the hosts capable of establishing control early before using their defensive strength to see out another comfortable result.
