We have analysed three pivotal matches for Serie A Correct Score betting ahead of this weekend's Serie A fixtures, including leaders Inter Milan hosting relegation-threatened Empoli, Napoli against Atalanta in an intriguing battle to qualify for Europe, and second-placed AC Milan travelling to Fiorentina in imperious form.
Serie A Correct Score betting – Selected markets
Napoli v Atalanta – 1-1 draw (6/1)
Napoli have already conceded their Scudetto crown this season, as they stand a massive 31 points behind leaders Inter, with just 27 points left to play for. They sit in seventh place, just two points and one spot behind Atalanta, which makes this game even more intriguing.
The form book suggests Atalanta are better-equipped to take all three points here, as they are unbeaten in three games, winning in the UEFA Europa League against Sporting CP last time out. On the other hand, Napoli are winless in three matches, including a 3-1 defeat at FC Barcelona that saw them crash out of the UEFA Champions League.
Napoli have actually won the last four H2Hs, including a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season, but Atalanta won the three clashes prior. This suggests they could cancel each other out, and so we have predicted a draw for Serie A's opening weekend fixture on Saturday morning.
Fiorentina v AC Milan – Milan to win 2-1 (10/1)
Saturday night's Serie A action sees Milan travel to Fiorentina, with six places and 19 points between them in the table. The visitors are Inter's closest challengers at the top of the table, but are 14 points behind their city rivals with just nine games and 27 points left to play for.
It is very unlikely that the Rossoneri will be able to gain that many points on Inter from now until the end of the season, as the leaders themselves have only dropped 11 points all campaign. However, all they can do is keep winning, and they are on excellent form having won their last five matches in all competitions.
Fiorentina are also in fine form, unbeaten in their last five games like Milan, although they have only won two of them. Milan have won three of the previous four H2Hs by one goal, including their 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this campaign, and we expect them to edge this one again.
Inter Milan v Empoli – Inter to win 2-0 (11/2)
Inter have stuttered of late having been on a remarkable winning run, as they lost to Atletico Madrid on penalties to exit the Champions League, while Napoli held them to a 1-1 draw at San Siro in Serie A last time out. Empoli visit the league leaders on Monday night, hoping to cause a major upset.
Unfortunately for the visitors, they have lost their last three league matches, albeit by 1-0 scorelines. Sitting uncomfortably in 17th and just one point above the relegation zone, Empoli need to start picking up points quickly.
However, it is a huge ask to do so against Inter, who have only given up 11 points in the league all season so far. Amazingly, Inter have also won 13 of the last 14 H2Hs, including a 1-0 victory at Empoli in the reverse fixture earlier this season. The previous two wins have also seen Inter keep a clean sheet, and so we expect them to do the same here, and move one step closer to lifting the Serie A title.
