Metz - Rennes
France Ligue 1 - Stade Saint Symphorien

Rennes' recent form has seen them slip away from the race for finishing in the European spots – much to their annoyance – but for Metz their season is certainly still alive and kicking. Following Le Havre's unexpected draw against PSG last weekend, Metz are now in the bottom three and hoping to claw themselves out.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Rennes to compound Metz's misery
Home: 12/5 (3.4) – 29.4%
Draw: 13/5 (3.6) – 27.8%
Away: 11/10 (2.1) – 47.6%
While the bookmakers are putting their faith in a Rennes side who have not been hitting the highest of normal in recent weeks, we do not hold those same beliefs and could see Metz getting a result, whether that be a draw or all three points.
Therefore, we'd suggest going for a punt on the Both Teams to Score market, but if you would like something with a lower risk, then perhaps take up the offer of Rennes win no bet and if they don't appeal to you, we have an abundance of others on our free betting tips page.
Last five H2Hs: Les Rouges et Noirs have been utterly dominant
Rennes have managed to win all five of the previous meetings between these two sides and in recent times it hasn't been a pleasant fixture for Metz. Les Rogues et Noirs have won the last two games by an aggregate scoreline of 11-2 which shows how difficult Ligue 1's third-worst team have found it.

Metz preview: Defensive unit could be their saviour
After a run of three games in which Metz managed to ship 11 goals and lose all of those matches, their defence appears to have become a far more solid unit. They've now conceded three in their last three games which has included a clean sheet away from home.
Predicted lineup: Oukidja (GK) – Udol, Sane, Traore, Colin – Diallo, N'Doram, Jean Jacques, Camara, Jallow – Mikautadze

Rennes preview: Positive form has deserted them
Rennes have only managed to win one of their last four games and that was away to Nantes, so playing in front of other fans didn't bother them as of late. Another worrying stat is that in two of their last three defeats, Rennes have failed to score, so if they go down first it could be curtains.
Predicted lineup: Mandanda (GK) – Belocian, Theate, Omari, Doue – Santamaria, Matusiwa – Gouiri, Bourigeaud – Kalimuendo, Terrier

Player to watch: Amine Goiri
While the stats on paper haven't been there for Amine Gouiri this season compared to last campaign, he is still a constant threat both out wide and through the middle.
His time to shine
It's five goal involvements in nine games for Gouiri and in two of those he didn't even start. So, if he can be unleashed like that from the start it could spell trouble for a Metz side struggling for form and confidence.
