We have updated the Premier League xG Power Rankings for the season so far, and analysed who is especially underperforming their expected goals (xG) numbers.
Nicolas Jackson is on the list after missing a sitter against Arsenal in Chelsea's 5-0 loss at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Tuesday, as he was only a few yards from David Raya's goal with a lot of the net to aim at, but he went for the near post and hit the side netting. It was not the only big chance the striker missed on the night, as we compare his xG numbers to some of the other biggest underperformers in the division.

Premier League xG Power Rankings – Jackson among Top 5 underperformers
1. Darwin Nunez (Liverpool) – Goals: 11, xG: 18.29 (-7.29)
Jackson will at least be relieved he does not top the list, as that accolade belongs to Liverpool's Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan is in double figures for the season, but with the amount of chances Liverpool create for him, he should be scoring more.
2. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) – Goals: 5, xG: 11.25 (-6.25)
Another player who is converting fewer of his chances than Jackson is Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who went on a long goal-drought earlier this season. Nunez and Calvert-Lewin could face off as Everton meet Liverpool in the Merseyside derby tonight, and both will need their shooting boots on.
3. Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) – Goals: 10, xG: 15.68 (-5.68)
Jackson is the third-worst performing player in the league according to his xG numbers compared to the actual number of goals he has scored. His missed chances against Arsenal only increased his xG more, and heaped pressure on Mauricio Pochettino whose job is reportedly in jeopardy.
4. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – Goals: 20, xG: 25.28 (-5.28)
Despite leading the scoring charts for a second season running, albeit joint with Chelsea's Cole Palmer, Erling Haaland is still underperforming his xG significantly. The Manchester City machine is guilty of squandering big chances as much as the ones he takes.
5. Keane Lewis-Potter (Brentford) – Goals: 3, xG: 7.50 (-4.50)
Last on the list is Brentford's Keane Lewis-Potter, who has only scored three league goals all season. With Ivan Toney out with a gambling ban in the first half of the campaign, the Bees have had to find other sources for goals, and unfortunately Lewis-Potter should be scoring more often.
