After an FA Cup weekend across English football, the midweek games return in the Premier League with 10 games to look forward to. Liverpool's clash with Chelsea will likely take centre stage, but we will take a look at three other games to focus on for the Premier League goal time betting markets.
Premier League goal time betting prediction – games in focus
Manchester City vs Burnley (46′-FT)
After easing to a 3-0 win over Burnley on the opening weekend of the season, Manchester City take on the Clarets at the Etihad where Vincent Kompany will return to his old stomping ground. Erling Haaland was the hero in that opening game, and the Golden Boot winner from last season could return from injury in this match.
In reality, City are likely to smash through Burnley and rack up a bunch of goals. This likely sees the Premier League champions bang in finishes throughout the game, and with Pep Guardiola likely leading at half time, his men could end up getting a handful in the second half and finish the match with a four, five or perhaps even a 6+ goals margin.
Erling Haaland to score 2+ goals against Burnley for the second time this season is priced at 2/1 (3.0).
Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal (75′-FT)
Not many teams can boast a better late goals record than Arsenal across Europe this season, and the Gunners have managed to score in the 94th minute away to Luton Town to grab a win last month.
Gabriel Martinelli also came on in the second half against Crystal Palace last time out, and quite incredibly scored a goal in the 94th and 95th minute of a 5-0 win. Further late winners this season have seen Kai Havertz bag a goal in the 89th minute of a 1-0 victory away to Brentford, while Leandro Trossard also secured a point within the last six minutes of the match away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Martinelli also grabbed a winner at home to Manchester City in the final four minutes that day, and Arsenal even have two goals in stoppage time against Manchester United on the board this season.
Going away to Nottingham Forest is no easy feat, and Arsenal may need to wait until late on once again in order to get some points on the board.
Martinelli has scored most of Arsenal's late goals and he is 2/1 (3.0) to get another goal at the County Ground.
Aston Villa vs Newcastle (75′-FT)
Another two sides who see late goals are Aston Villa and Newcastle United.
The Villains have secured late wins over the likes of City and Tottenham Hotspur this season. In fact, all three of Unai Emery's last wins have seen his men score within the final six minutes, as Matty Cash netted the winner in the 87th minute against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, just as Douglas Luiz scored a penalty in the 89th against Burnley after Ollie Watkins won the game away to Brentford.
Ollie Watkins has scored nine Premier League goals so far, and he is 6/4 (2.5) to get his 10th at home to Newcastle United.
