Manchester City and Bournemouth clash this weekend in the Premier League and it’s a fixture that will bring back plenty of happy memories for the City boss and his team. The Pep Guardiola managerial H2H record vs Bournemouth is stacked heavily in favour of the Catalan boss who has tormented the Cherries since arriving in England.

Manchester City 6-1 Bournemouth – 4th November 2023
Pep Guardiola came up against Andoni Iraola for the first time earlier this season and it was a very one-sided affair. Bournemouth were yet to truly find their feet under their new boss at that time and they were outclassed by the defending champions who scored three goals in the space of seven First Half minutes to take control of the game.
Bernardo Silva was on target twice and there was even a late goal for former Cherries star Nathan Ake to rub salt in the wounds of the visitors. It wouldn’t be long before Bournemouth found some form though and they may be a tougher nut to crack when the two clubs meet in the Premier League this weekend.

Bournemouth 1-4 Manchester City – 25th February 2023
Last season was Bournemouth’s first back in the top flight and while they managed to beat the drop under Gary O’Neil, they were no match for Pep Guardiola’s City.
This was another game where City took control early and didn’t let go. Julian Alvarez, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland all scored before the break. A Chris Mepham own goal made it 4-0 early in the Second Half but there was at least a late consolation for Bournemouth via Jefferson Lerma.
Manchester City 4-0 Bournemouth – 13th August 2022
The sides also met early in the 2022/23 campaign at the Etihad. This was a rude awakening to life at the top level for the Cherries as Pep’s men dominated the game with 67% possession and 19 attempts on goal to Bournemouth’s three.
City also scored three First Half goals in that match and they also benefited from an own goal after the break with Lerma the guilty party.

Manchester City 2-1 Bournemouth – 24th September 2020
The most recent meeting prior to the 2022/23 season came in the EFL Cup Third Round in September 2020. The shot count was again 19 to three in City’s favour but it was a much tighter scoreline.
City’s opener from Liam Delap was quickly cancelled out by Sam Surridge. A relatively inexperienced home side struggled to find a winning goal but it eventually came via Phil Foden in the 75th minute.
Manchester City 2-1 Bournemouth – 15th July 2020
Pep Guardiola also racked up a number of wins over Bournemouth during the Dorset club’s previous stint in the top flight, including a 2-1 triumph in July 2020 which pushed Eddie Howe’s team closer to the drop.
Bournemouth actually gave a really good account of themselves in this game, having almost twice as many shots as their hosts. However the outcome was rarely in doubt with David Silva and Gabriel Jesus putting City 2-0 up at the break and Bournemouth’s goal was only an 88th minute consolation from David Brooks.
