Benfica vs Moreirense prediction: A confident win for the hosts
Key stats
- Moreirense are winless in their last seven games in the Primeira Liga.
- Benfica have kept a clean sheet in six of their 10 games at home in the league.
- Moreirense have failed to score in three of their last four matches.
Correct score prediction: Benfica 2-0 Moreirense
There is little doubt about Benfica winning this game, even though they have struggled a bit lately and Moreirense have been a tough nut to crack for them recently. Still, Benfica will play at home and the guests are in poor form, so a confident, 2-0 win sounds like a reasonable outcome.

Benfica preview: Falling behind in the title race
After losing three times in their last five matches in the league, Benfica are now six points behind Sporting CP, although for now they remain in the second place in the standings. Benfica haven't been great in Champions League either, but they managed to secure their place in the knockout stages with a win in Torino over Juventus in the last round of the league phase.
When it comes to team news, Renato Sanches and Tiago Gouveia are out with injuries, while Angel Di Maria is questionable.
Predicted lineup: Trubin (GK), Araujo, A. Silva, Otamendi, Carreras, Aursnes, M. Silva, Kokcu, Schjelderup, Pavlidis & Akturkoglu

Moreirense preview: Long time without a win
It's been seven rounds in the Primeira League since Moreirense last notched a win, back at the start of December when they beat the champions Sporting. While this seemed like it could lead to some more good results for Moreirense, that didn't happen. To make matters worse, Moreirense was also eliminated from Taca de Portugal since, having lost to Gil Vicente.
Meanwhile, Guilherme Liberato and Hernani Infande are out with injuries, but Moreirense might also miss Sidnei Tavares who was taken off in the first half of the team's last game.
Predicted lineup: Kewin (GK), Pinto, Marcelo, Maracas, Frimpong, Ofori, Ismael, Santos, Alan, Martins & Schettine

Player to watch: Kerem Akturkoglu
The Turkish winger has been in good form in the league this season, scoring seven goals for Benfica so far. This makes him the team's top scorer, although Pavlidis is close behind with six goals. Akturkoglu also added five assists in the Primeira Liga as well, so he's our player to watch for this game.
