Mexico to keep it clean and to win

Mexico might have drawn their last three matches (at 90 minutes) but they've only lost two of their previous 20 with 13 wins to boot. Panama are currently on a good run themselves having gone unbeaten in seven but we are making the prediction that this game will be a step too far; Mexico dominate the head to head history. In the last five meetings Mexico have won four; with Panama netting just a solitary goal.

At least one of Mexico or Panama will fail to score

Our first prediction already shows we expect Mexico to keep a clean sheet but the BTTS – No bet is a good way of hedging our bets. It's a tip that comes well backed by recent form too. Panama have seen at least one team blank in their last five. The same is true of Mexico. Then you have the aforementioned head to head record to consider; across the last 10 fixtures there have been six results with a ‘0' in the final score line.

A 2-0 win for Mexico

Mexico have put three goals past Panama in their last two meetings but we don't see that happening this time. Panama have been in good form of late without conceding many goals but they're hard to judge with the strength of their opposition not a patch on Mexico. For Mexico, you'd probably describe their form as efficient; they're avoiding defeat but rarely taking sides to the cleaners. Those factors combine to bring our correct score prediction in at 2-0 to Mexico.

Mexico to get back to winning ways

We say Mexico need to get back to winning ways as if they've been going through a tough spell; they haven't. They drew last time out and then had a win and a defeat in their two prior games courtesy of matches going into extra time and penalties. With the likes of Jesus Corona and Alan Pulido in their team they will ask a lot of questions of Panama. So, what do Panama look like? As we've touched on in our predictions, their form has been good. The trouble is they haven't played anyone as good as Mexico. Their defence, which we expect will be marshalled by LASK centre back Andres Andrade, will have their work cut out. Where their attacking threat is concerned, Panama will be looking at Gabriel Torres to bag the goals; he recently hit four in their 13-0 demolition of Anguilla.
