Value (3/5): PSG remain firm
As seen during Real Madrid's pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, PSG don't let their key players leave easily. At this point, they still want the 22-year-old to extend his contract beyond 2026. Further, Plettenberg reveals that three other top clubs are also chasing Mendes.
Accordingly, expect United to pay a big transfer fee if they manage to convince PSG to sell their left-back, who is valued at £45.6 million by Transfermarkt.

Ruben Amorim handed Mendes his breakthrough at Sporting and is fully aware of his qualities. Known for his pace and attacking intent, the Portuguese would be an ideal left-sided wing-back in Amorim's 3-4-3 at Old Trafford.

As far as Mendes is concerned, a possible reunion with former mentor Amorim presents a perfect opportunity to further his development. United would also benefit from the arrival of such a talented player.
However, his potential price tag may force the Mancunians to consider other targets, including Patrick Dorgu, who is expected to be available for a reasonable fee.
