Manchester United appear to be heading for another difficult campaign. One of the club’s senior players is reportedly considering a move during the January transfer window to avoid going through another disappointing season.
Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 in a deal worth around €65m (£56m). Now 31, the Portuguese international is one of the longest-serving members of the current squad. He has been one of the few consistent performers in recent years and remains a key figure in Ruben Amorim’s side — even wearing the captain’s armband.
Another poor start for Manchester United
United are relying on Fernandes to maintain his high standards and help lift the team. However, once again, the results have fallen short of expectations at the beginning of the new season. Despite not playing in European competitions this year, the Red Devils have already been eliminated from the EFL Cup after losing on penalties to a fourth-tier side.

In the Premier League, they have managed just one victory — a dramatic late win over Burnley, secured by a 97th-minute penalty from Fernandes. Aside from that, Amorim’s men have suffered defeats to Manchester City (3-0) and Arsenal (1-0), and were held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham.
Fernandes considering exit amid Saudi interest
With Manchester United seemingly heading for another troubled season, Bruno Fernandes is reportedly unwilling to go through it again. According to Football Insider, the Portuguese midfielder is open to leaving in the January window if results do not improve.
The United captain has already resisted strong interest from Saudi Arabia in recent months, having turned down three lucrative offers this summer from Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, and Al-Ittihad. However, Football Insider also reports that Saudi clubs remain keen on Fernandes and are expected to make renewed approaches in the winter.
That could leave Manchester United facing a real challenge in keeping hold of their playmaker.
