Searching for an additional attacking asset during the winter transfer window, Manchester United have made contact with representatives of a Borussia Dortmund star.

Despite over £200m invested during the summer transfer window to secure a new attack, Manchester United still need to complete their attacking sector. An envelope of £110m would be made available for this winter, enough to allow the Red Devils to find the ideal player. Ruben Amorim is calling for a recruit, particularly because of numerous absences during the coming weeks.

Indeed, Benjamin Sesko was injured during the draw (2-2) against Tottenham on the last Premier League matchday. Moreover, Bryan Mbeumo (Cameroon) and Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast) will be absent, potentially from 21st December 2025 to 18th January 2026, because of AFCON. According to information from outlet Bild, Manchester United would be interested in the services of Karim Adeyemi.

Karim Adeyemi, Manchester United's next big move?

The German newspaper indicates that Manchester United have made contact with Jorge Mendes, who manages the interests of the Borussia Dortmund winger. This season, Karim Adeyemi has scored three goals and provided three assists. His name has been linked with the English club for several months. But the Mancunian directors could finally take action when the winter transfer window opens.

Karim Adeyemi is valued at €60m (£53m) on Transfermarkt. Recently, tensions between manager Niko Kovac and the 23-year-old player have erupted, suggesting a potential departure for the Germany international (11 caps, one goal). The striker is considered extremely talented, but too inconsistent in his performances and not precise enough in front of goal. A transfer to a club as demanding as Manchester United can be double-edged. Either this move will definitively launch his career, or he will join the list of recent flops like Jadon Sancho or Antony.
