Manchester City are interested in a player frustrated by his playing time at Arsenal ahead of the winter transfer window opening.

After a mixed start to the season, Manchester City are in excellent form. The Sky Blues, who have just beaten Liverpool (3-0) on Sunday, are on a run of four consecutive and commanding victories with 13 goals scored. Erling Haaland is racking up goals, whilst Phil Foden, Rayan Cherki and also Jeremy Doku are flourishing in support of the Norwegian.

Manchester City appreciate Ben White's profile

This good spell nevertheless does not prevent the Mancunian club from looking ahead to the winter transfer window. Indeed, according to Arsenal Insider, Manchester City are among the clubs interested in Ben White's profile. The Gunners' English defender has an interesting profile as he can play equally well at right-back as in central defence and possesses excellent passing quality.

Along with Juventus and Atletico Madrid, who are also closely following his situation, the Sky Blues would like to take advantage of his limited use at Arsenal to recruit him in January. The 28-year-old player is now merely a rotation player in Mikel Arteta's mind, who has only played him in six encounters since the start of the season, including just one in the Premier League.

Possible Ben White departure in winter window?

According to the same source, Ben White currently has no intention of leaving Arsenal, whom he joined during summer 2021 for £50m from Brighton. And this, despite the fact that he is “frustrated” by his reduced playing time since the start of this new campaign, according to the British outlet.

It therefore currently seems unlikely that Arsenal will let their versatile defender go mid-season, especially if he wishes to remain in London, and even more so to a direct competitor like Manchester City. This case nevertheless remains one to monitor until January, as Ben White's position could evolve by then.
