Manchester City would be very interested in a PSG key player and are preparing an offer of £105m (€120m) for the 2026 transfer window.

The 2025-26 season has barely begun, but certain clubs are already thinking about the summer 2026 transfer window. This is notably the case with Chelsea, who want to sign Mike Maignan as a free agent from AC Milan, or Real Madrid, who wish to do the same with Ibrahima Konate or Dayot Upamecano.

Manchester City Dream of Joao Neves

For their part, Manchester City are not thinking about a future free agent, but about a PSG key player. Indeed, according to Fichajes, the Sky Blues have made Joao Neves their priority for the summer 2026 transfer window. The Premier League side's objective would be to sign a long-term replacement for Rodri, who is 29 years old and is coming off an almost blank season following a cruciate ligament rupture in his knee.

However, the 20-year-old Portuguese midfielder has established himself as an indispensable link in Luis Enrique's midfield since his arrival in Paris in 2024 for nearly £55.5m. He is thus coming off a season with 7 goals and 10 assists in 59 matches across all competitions.

PSG Have No Interest in Parting with Their Key Player

It thus seems difficult to imagine seeing Joao Neves leave the French capital club anytime soon. And this, whilst he is a key player for the French side and seems very happy. PSG have, in any case, no interest in parting with their young player, who is still under contract until June 2029.

Thus, to try to make Paris waver, Manchester City would like to try their luck next summer and are reportedly considering making an offer worth £105m for Joao Neves, who is valued at £68.4m by Transfermarkt. However, PSG do not need to sell and should close the door on a departure, despite this enormous amount.
