Before the opening of the winter transfer window, major European clubs are preparing their moves. Manchester City and United would thus be targeting the same player in January.

All summer, Manchester City were announced to be searching for a right-back. The Sky Blues even had 4 targets in this position with Wesley, Tino Livramento, Nicolo Savona and Pedro Porro. However, the English giant ultimately recruited none of these names and not even any player in this position.

Nahuel Molina in the sights of Manchester City and United

A choice that Manchester City seem to regret today. Indeed, the Premier League side are already announced to be searching for a right-back for the winter transfer window. A Manchester derby is planned for a £29.9m full-back: Denzel Dumfries. The Inter Milan right-back is coming off a strong season and would be open to a departure to the Premier League.

But that is not all. Indeed, according to information from TBR Football, Manchester City and United are targeting another player in this position for the month of January. It is Nahuel Molina. The 27-year-old Argentine is no longer a starter in Diego Simeone's eyes and could therefore leave Atletico Madrid.

Pep Guardiola wants a right-back in the winter transfer window

Manchester United are interested in his situation. Pep Guardiola wishes to add a new option for his right-back position, which has been occupied since the start of the season by Matheus Nunes and Abdukodir Khusanov, who are not right-backs by training.

TBR Football believe that a transfer of Nahuel Molina in January is totally possible, whilst Manchester United also have the 2022 world champion on their radar. It should be noted that the Argentine international, who is still under contract until June 2027 with Atletico Madrid, is valued at £17.1m by Transfermarkt.
