To maintain their dominance in Turkey, Galatasaray have laid out ambitious plans for the transfer window, targeting goalkeeper Ederson, Internacional’s Vitão and Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji.
Turkish giants also attempted to sign Porto keeper Diogo Costa in recent days, but the Portuguese shot-stopper turned down the offer. The club is now working behind the scenes to advance talks with City and Internacional to complete the other deals.
Ederson talks continue
Ederson’s future at Manchester City remains uncertain, particularly after the club signed James Trafford from Burnley. Galatasaray have reportedly made a €10 million (R$63.9m) offer, but City are asking for €25 million (R$159.9m).
Pep Guardiola has confirmed he wants to keep Ederson but would allow him to leave if he chooses. The Brazilian’s contract runs until June 2026. Ederson did not feature in City’s season opener, with Trafford starting instead, leaving Galatasaray to decide whether to meet City’s valuation.
Akanji on radar
Manuel Akanji started the season on the bench for City, who played Rúben Dias and John Stones in their 4–0 Premier League win over Wolverhampton last Saturday (16th). Competing with Abdukodir Khusanov and Nathan Aké for minutes, the 30-year-old Swiss defender has two years remaining on his contract. Galatasaray have yet to make a formal approach, but interest continues to grow.

Galatasaray eye Vitão move
According to Goal, Galatasaray have already approached Internacional over 25-year-old defender Vitão, who has been a standout for the Brazilian side. Internacional are reportedly asking €12 million (around R$76.6m) for the centre-back.
The Turkish club may table a formal offer after Internacional’s Copa Libertadores round of 16 second-leg clash with Flamengo on Wednesday (20th) at Beira-Rio. Vitão was also approached by Flamengo earlier this year and has drawn interest from Real Betis, but no deal was agreed. Representatives from Galatasaray are expected to watch the defender in person, though his departure could hinge on Internacional’s financial needs.
Diogo Costa deal off
Galatasaray also targeted Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, but the Portuguese side rejected a €20 million (R$127.7m) offer. Costa’s release clause stands at €75 million (R$478.9m), and the 25-year-old captain is happy in Portugal.
Galatasaray now focus on securing Vitão, Ederson and Akanji as they look to strengthen their squad for the season.
