Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are interested in an FC Barcelona hotshot, the Spanish coach's former club. And the Citizens have a price in mind.

Despite a rather good start to the season, the side managed by Guardiola are getting active for the upcoming transfer windows. Manchester City are notably in battle with four Premier League rivals for a £35m defender, namely Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa).

The English club even cross FC Barcelona on a good deal, Fisnik Asllani (Hoffenheim). But the two clubs could rather meet to discuss a gem from Hansi Flick's squad.

Manchester City ready to bet a little money on a Barcelona hotshot

As revealed by Fichajes, Manchester City and Chelsea are eyeing gem Dro Fernandez. And, still according to the same Spanish media, Guardiola wishes to take action for the 17-year-old Spaniard, with an offer of €10m (£8.6m). Having appeared twice in the first team this season, the attacker has already scored one goal, against Olympiacos Piraeus (6-1).

Under contract until June 2027 with Barca Athletic, Fernandez is estimated at only €5m (£4.3m) by Transfermarkt. But if his ascent continues within the first team, this market value could quickly become obsolete.

Barcelona ready to yield before Manchester City?

Moreover, as relayed by TBR Football at the end of September, FC Barcelona's sporting management have started discussions with Fernandez's entourage for a contract extension, when the young man blows out his 18th candle, in January 2026. Until then, the Spanish club will have to resist Manchester City's pressing, as well as PSG's, Bayern Munich's, Arsenal's or the gem's other suitors.

In all likelihood, this is feasible. Not certain indeed that the sum of £8.6m will make Barcelona yield, but the more the amount increases, the less lively the Catalan club's resistance, who need money, will be.
