Authenticity (4/5): Dibling deal contingent on Europa League
Manchester United will push to sign Southampton star Tyler Dibling if they secure Champions League qualification by winning this season's Europa League.
That is according to the very reputed ESPN, who add the Red Devils face competition from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Bayern Munich for the Saints' breakout star.
Value (2/5): Unrealistic valuation
Southampton have slapped a £100million price tag on their prized asset but it is considered an “unlikely valuation” especially as their relegation to the Championship is confirmed. A Champions League qualification is worth at least £80million to United but even then it is fair to assume they wouldn't come close to the alleged asking price.
Suitability (3.5/5): Aggressive winger
Dibling has impressed with his relentless and aggressive approach in and out of possession. The technically proficient winger likes to take on full-backs and is also very good at linking up with his teammates in the final third. The England U21 international has been involved in seven goals across all competitions this term.
Upgrade? (4/5): Versatile talent
Dibling has mostly played on the right flank in his breakthrough campaign, but the youngster is equally influential in the middle of the park, owing to his passing range and positional awareness. His versatility could come in handy at Old Trafford due to lack of squad depth.
Logic (2.5/5): Dibling's desire unclear
While United's pursuit depends on their Europa League fate, it remains unclear what Dibling wants. With the likes of Chelsea and City also in the mix, it is not going to be a straightforward chase for Ineos.
