Authenticity (2.5/5): Scouts not going for nothing
Man Utd are lining up a January move for Greek wonderkid Charalampos Kostoulas, having sent scouts to watch the 17-year-old in action for Olympiacos.
This story comes from The Sun, who aren't the first choice for transfer news, but news of the scouting mission suggests strong interest from the Red Devils.
Value (3/5): Price tag yet to come to light
Kostoulas, already an under-21 international, is enjoying his breakout campaign with his boyhood club, scoring twice in 17 appearances for the UEFA Conference League champions.
His market value is just over £500,000, though Olympiacos are sure to demand much, much more than that. United may have to overspend, but they could get of of Europe's best young talents in return.
Suitability (2/5): United need experience
Ruben Amorim is looking for talented, experienced players to fill a few key positions in his United side, including centre-forward.
Kostoulas has also played at right wing and attacking midfield this season, thus he could prove a useful back-up in a number of areas, but the United rebuild needs a few more big hitters.
Upgrade? (2/5): One for the future
If Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are not experienced enough to lead the line for the Red Devils, then neither is a teenager who has played as many first-team matches as he has had birthdays. There is no doubting Kostoulas' talent, though, and in a few years he could well be.
Logic (3/5): Is this move too soon?
Unlikely to get near the first-team for now, Kostoulas risks losing the good momentum he has built with the Piraeus club and could be subject of many loan moves for the next few seasons.
However, he does fit into United's new model of targeting young talents, rather than overspending on big names.
Whisper+ verdict: 12.5/25
If Olympiacos' asking price is not too high, then this rumour could be one to keep track of, even if it doesn't solve United's striker issues for now, while Kostoulas might need some convincing to make the move.
