Liverpool v Newcastle correct score betting – Most common scoreline

The most common scoreline over those 10 fixtures has been a 3-1 Liverpool win, which has been the result three times. However, this is not the most likely scoreline on Saturday night according to betting markets, with them favouring a 2-1 victory instead, the same as the reverse fixture earlier this term.

Per betting markets, the most likely scoreline if it is a draw is 1-1, while the most likely Newcastle victory is 2-1. Here are some selected scorelines and the odds of them happening:

  • Liverpool 2-1 Newcastle – 8/1
  • Liverpool 1-1 Newcastle – 9/1
  • Liverpool 3-1 Newcastle – 11/1
  • Liverpool 1-2 Newcastle – 22/1

Correct score – HT

The most common scoreline at HT over the last 10 PL meetings has been 1-0, with Liverpool leading four times and Newcastle once. Overall, the Reds have been ahead six times, the Magpies twice, and there have been two stalemates.

There have been 17 goals scored before HT in total, at an average of 1.7 goals per game. Betting markets have a 0-0 scoreline or Liverpool leading 1-0 at the break as the most likely outcome, while you can get Newcastle leading 1-0 at a fairly generous price:

  • Liverpool 1-0 Newcastle – 3/1
  • Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle – 3/1
  • Liverpool 0-1 Newcastle – 15/2

Total goals exact

In the last 10 PL fixtures, the most common exact total of goals to be scored in a match has been four – all 3-1 Liverpool victories. The next common were two and three goals, occurring twice each. However, betting markets believe three goals in the game will be the most likely scenario, followed by two and then four:

  • 3 – 10/3
  • 2 – 7/2
  • 4 – 15/4

Total goals over/under

The previous 10 PL encounters has produced 28 goals in total – 20 for Liverpool and eight for Newcastle – at an average of 2.8 per game. The most goals scored in one match over that run has been five – a 3-2 victory for the Reds in 2018/19, while the least has been zero with a 0-0 draw in 2020/21.

Betting markets have offered shortened odds for over 2.5 goals and under three goals, while under 0.5 goals, in other words a repeat of the 0-0 stalemate, is unsurprisingly at a much bigger price, while over 4.5 goals is priced fairly generously:

  • Over 2.5 – 10/21
  • Under 3 – 6/5
  • Over 4.5 – 13/5
  • Under 0.5 – 20/1

Both teams to score

Liverpool and Newcastle have scored in the same game in seven of their previous 10 PL H2Hs, with the Reds only failing to score once and the Magpies on three occasions.

As such, betting markets have both teams to score as a more likely scenario than not:

  • Yes – 8/13
  • No – 11/8

Team to score first

Despite not winning any of their last 10 H2Hs, Newcastle have gone ahead in four of their games, with Liverpool taking the lead five times and there being one 0-0 draw.

Betting markets believe Liverpool are most likely to go in front at Anfield, while Newcastle have been given generous odds, and no goalscorer is deemed highly unlikely:

  • Liverpool – 17/40
  • Newcastle – 9/4
  • No goals – 25/1

Team to score last

Newcastle have never scored last in their previous 10 H2Hs, while Liverpool have netted last nine times, alongside the one 0-0 stalemate.

Unsurprisingly, betting markets have Liverpool scoring last as the most likely outcome, while Newcastle netting last is at the same price as them netting first, and no goalscorer is at long odds:

  • Liverpool – 4/9
  • Newcastle – 9/4
  • No goalscorer – 18/1
