It appears the ongoing saga regarding Konate’s future is coming to its conclusion, with the club reportedly telling the centre-back to sign an extension to his contract or make the move to LaLiga.
The defender is entering the final year of his contract, and while Liverpool are determined to keep the player, they also want to avoid a situation which would see him leave Anfield on a free transfer next summer.
The Liverpool fanbase have already been angered by the Trent Alexander-Arnold saga earlier in the window, with the right-back eventually leaving for Madrid for a measly £10m.

Liverpool in talks over Ibrahima Konate replacement
Liverpool are said to be in advanced negotiations with Crystal Palace over the signing of Marc Guehi.
The player is entering the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, and the south London club are determined to cash in on the defender.
Palace are looking to get at least £35m for the player, with the deal close to completion after Guehi reportedly agreed personal terms with the defending champions.
Should Konate complete his departure to Madrid, Guehi is seen as the perfect long-term replacement. However, even if the Frenchman decided to stay, Guehi’s addition will only strengthen Liverpool’s defensive options.

Manchester United are dealing with a lot of dead wood this summer, though one such player is on the brink of a new loan deal after AS Roma put in a loan bid for Jadon Sancho.
While a loan deal is not the ideal scenario for United, it would save around £10m in wages – something that is sure to please serial saver Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

According to reports, Roma are exploring a possible permanent deal for the player, with sources indicating a £20m valuation.
There are other clubs interested in the player, including Juventus, Besiktas and his former side Borussia Dortmund. With so many potential suitors, it is unlikely Sancho will remain at Old Trafford for long.
